The Tech Worker Voter Guide Advisory Board is in charge of making endorsements, writing or approving the ballot prop descriptions, and overseeing the entire endorsement process.

Aston Motes

Aston Motes

Aston moved to San Francisco over a decade ago to join Dropbox as its first hire and has lived in the city ever since. While at Dropbox, he led engineering for the website and API, and since, he has been involved as an early founder, employee, advisor, and sometimes investor in dozens of startups, most recently serving in an technical capacity as Director of Engineering at UnitedMasters.

He now serves as the interim Executive Director and board member of /dev/color, a nonprofit that empowers Black software engineers to help one another grow into industry leaders. He also serves on the board of Fast Forward, a tech nonprofit startup accelerator.

Gabbi Fisher

Gabbi Fisher

Gabbi is an infrastructure software engineer at Apple, where her work focuses on Kubernetes. She previously helped build Cloudflare Workers, a functions-as-a-service platform. She’s lived in the Bay Area since 2013 and loves biking around San Francisco (and beyond!) in search of her latest snack.

Though she builds software in her day job, Gabbi also has a policy background, and contributed to technology policy as an intern at the Obama White House. She enjoys spending her free time canvassing and phone banking to get folks excited about elections and the power their vote holds on local and statewide legislation!

Sabeek Pradhan

Sabeek Pradhan

Sabeek Pradhan is a deep learning researcher at Waymo, and has previously worked at Zoox, where he worked on 3D perception and led cross-functional efforts to improve how the self-driving vehicle interacts with pedestrians. He is an immigrant from Nepal, and moved to the Bay Area eight years ago after growing up in Michigan.

He has been involved in local politics since 2018. He is a volunteer with YIMBY Action and the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition. He is a big believer in the power to effect change at the local and state levels, and feels that land use policies play an integral role in many problems, from housing to transportation to climate change.

Steven Buss

Steven Buss

Steven Buss is a software engineer on Google Cloud, and has previously worked at Counsyl, where he automated the billing system and built internal tools, and Amazon, where he worked on automatic categorization and refinements for product searches. He lives in the Tenderloin and has lived in SF for just over four years. He has lived in three countries, five US states, and 11 cities (of all sizes).

Steven has been involved in local politics since mid-2016 and has previously served on the board of the United Democratic Club. He is now on the boards of YIMBY Action and YIMBY Law, and organizes with YIMBY Neoliberal.

Truc Nguyen

Truc Nguyen

Truc Nguyen is a product designer at AppDynamics. She has previously built marketing analytics products at Unity Technologies and AdRoll. Truc is a renter in Lower Nob Hill and has been a resident of San Francisco for over 7 years.

She has over a decade of experience in leadership roles at various volunteer-led organizations from college radio to technology education non-profits. In work and politics, she believes in a balance of data-driven pragmatism with empathy for the communities she serves.
